help for canine gingivitis?

My dog is very, very small, and anesthesia is too dangerous for her (her vet advised that anesthesia should only be used on her in an emergency), and even the tiny rawhides are impossible for her to chew. Today my vet advised that she has gingivitis I can barley fit a baby toothbrush in her mouth, but I do what I can. Anything else I could try to reverse/prevent gingivitis and promote health gums and teeth?

what would you recommend for dog allergies?

i have a 7 month old puggle. we’ve been to the vet already and i dont want to spend more money on another appointment. my puggle has been scratching her tail and her back, biting her nails at times. i always give her a bath, groom her, give her frontline etc. i searched online and it says it might be allergies. what would you recommend?

I want to hold a fundraiser for my dog's heartworm treatment. Ideas?

I adopted a dog as a rescue from an animal shelter. She was diagnosed with heartworms and the treatment can cost up to 00 at my local vet.

I want to hold a fundraiser to help raise this money. What would be a low-cost way to get donations for this cause?
Note: She had heartworms when I adopted her. I put her on preventatives, but anyone familiar with the disease knows this is not enough.

Why will a dog who displays no symptoms of illness/distress stop eating? Eats his milkbone, but not dog food?

My dog is large shepherd mix (about age 6), and about a week ago he decided he no longer wants to eat his Gravy Train dog food (I have two other dogs and they’re eating just fine). He still eats his milkbone in the morning but refuses to eat anything else. Last night he finally ate his food but vomited about 2 hours later. Other than last night, he had not vomited before. Any ideas? We recently had a few days of 100 degree heat but it has cooled off since then. My husband thinks it’s the heat, but I’m still worried. I would take him to the Vet, but honestly, we’re facing a little bit of a hardship at this time so I have to be careful with my spending. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
OK, so I took all the dogs off of Gravy Train and switched them to brown rice, oats, chicken, and vegetables. He ate it but then, about 3 hours later, he vomited again. Today, he won’t eat. I know he’s hungry, but he won’t eat it. I’m so sad right now. I wish I could take him to the Vet but, honestly, I’m really strapped for cash to the point where I either pay my rent or take him to the Vet. I don’t know what to do.

what will happen to my dog if he licked cat flea treatment?

my daughter accidentally put our cat flea treatment on our dog and than latter that day i noticed him
biting his legs (where she had put it) than the next day(today) he was throwing up and wouldent eat or drink i asked my daughter if she put anything on him she said yes.I asked her what she said flea powder i asked her where this flea powder is she showed me the cat flea powder now i dont know what to do and i dont have any!money to take him to the vet i need help!

My dog has doggie dementia and diabetes.. she is stable, but would switching homes worsen her health?

My dog has had diabetes for over 4 years. She is regulated on insulin and has lost her sight due to cataracts.. Last week, she was diagnosed with Alzhamer’s Disease last week. Her dementia is in the beginning stages, but has been getting worse over time. When she was diagnosed, I had them run a full blood panel; which came back with great results (the vet said she had never seen such clean bloodwork on a 13-year-old canine).

My ex-husband, who hasn’t seen her in 5 years, is wishing to see her and take care of her for the last years of her life. The financial burden has begun taking it’s toll on me (2 shots a day + special food + medicine = 0 a month), so I’ve considered his offer. However, I am going to do what is in HER best interest.

I’m worried that moving homes would take a toll on her health. She’s finally moving around ok (thank you for arthritis medicine) and being stabilized on her insulin. She’s always been VERY strong throughout her 13 years (I’ve moved a lot with the military).

Any advice or experience would be appreciated!

Any idea what this might be on my dog's skin? (Photo) Is there such thing as a Canine Dermatologist?

My dog has had this little bump (about 2mm in size). It is not painful and does not cause him discomfort when it is touched. It is on the upper side in the middle of his body. It is a little bump but feels dry on top. He is a 4 year old Bichon Frise, in otherwise good health.
He was examined exactly a month ago. The Vet thought it was just a scratch but it can’t be because it hasn’t healed (or gotten worse) for a month now. (I noticed it one month ago)

I am wondering if I should go ahead and try to find a Canine Dermatologist and go there.

He never got a shot there, so it’s not that. He did however have a tick on him before (about a month ago) but I got it off. It was not on that side though. It was only on his tummy. I did not see any other ticks on him at all, and the one I removed, it was all intact and it was on the other side. The way I noticed the bump was because I was feeling for ticks after I found the one which I successfully removed.

Any guesses on what it looks like?

Lyme Disease – did your dog respond to treatment immediately?

Have you had a dog with lyme disease that didn’t respond to antibiotics? Please tell me about your experience with your dog and their treatment of Lyme. What were the symptoms? What meds did the vet give? Did first meds work? What ever information you can share is most appreciated.
Dog was on doxycycline, didn’t respond. Went on clavamox, also non responsive.
They did do inhouse testing for Lyme which was positive.
